2024 Subaru Impreza–With a more narrowly focused selection aimed at entry-level buyers, the next version of the Subaru Impreza will debut for the 2024 model year. The higher-specified Premium and Limited trims, leather on the gradewalk, and a manual transmission option are all absent from the Impreza, which is only offered as a station wagon. Bold modifications for such a long-running commuter favorite were revealed at the Los Angeles Auto Show on Thursday morning, which may surprise some followers. However, Subaru is hoping that bringing back the first-generation 2.5 RS model of the Impreza with a larger-displacement Boxer four-cylinder engine will help draw in customers who still desire a little bit of sporty attitude without having to pay WRX prices.

2024 Subaru Impreza Exterior
The only distinguishing features of the various versions, even on the highest RS trim, are the badging, a few bits of the exterior piano black trim (which is prone to accumulating dust, fingerprints, and scratches), and a set of 18-inch wheels. Subaru decided to preserve the mounting points for bolt-on roof racks despite a smoother roofline.
A step on the back door sill allows for easy access to the roof-mounted equipment, among other innovative features. Although the rear seats of the wagon may be pulled down, they cannot be folded flat with the trunk floor, making it impossible to sleep comfortably without an aftermarket set-up. As a capable commuter vehicle, the Impreza has just entered the scene.

2024 Subaru Impreza Powertrain
The existing 2.5-liter flat-four used in the Crosstrek, which now produces the same 182 horsepower but a little more torque at 178 pound-feet, will be used in the RS with only minor tweaks. A 2.0-liter engine with 152 horsepower and 145 pound-feet of torque is standard on base and sport models. The beloved Impreza’s manual transmission is gone, as Subaru representatives stated at the model year 2024 car’s unveiling as a compliment to the WRX’s greater take rates for stick shifts and clutch pedals. With paddle shifters available on Sport and RS trims, the continuously variable gearbox (CVT) that is standard across the spectrum can simulate shifting between eight distinct gear ratios. Additionally, Subaru improved the company’s renowned Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system to stop the center differential from locking as soon as in earlier generations, resulting in a 20% reduction in differential driveline noise and a quicker transfer of power from the front to the back.
